| Abstract |
This article examines the potential for tourism in the Pacific to contribute to progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Tourism is an increasingly important source of foreign exchange and employment for many Pacific countries. The author, however, questions the extent that tourism is contributing to poverty alleviation in the region with expatriate investors and local elites being the main beneficiaries of tourism. |
