Global Focus Aotearoa is committed to providing information, resources and capacity building of young people to better allow them to articulate their opinions and views on global issues. There are several ways we involve young people, some of which are outlined below - we're always coming up with new stuff!

Participation

The Global Focus Aotearoa advocate meaningful youth participation, and as such provide loads of opportunities for young people to be a part of their work.

Just Focus, a network providing young people with a way to have a voice on, and engage with issues of global importance. The centre of Just Focus is our website, www.justfocus.org.nz.

Just Write, a certificate programme which supports a team of young people to develop their research, writing and interviewing skills; works to deepen their understanding of global issues; and provides them with opportunities to work with experienced journalists to produce work on global issues. Events

Global Focus Aotearoa runs events for young people to engage them in global issues.

Media That Matters Aotearoa is a short film festival run by and for young people, to get them thinking about and takinbg action on global issues. Held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch in June each year, Media That Matters is based on a US movement, but has a Just Focus spin on it here.  For more on events, click here.

 Media

Global Focus Aotearoa advocate for the inclusion of youth voices on global issues and are pro-active in working with media to create editorial opportunities for young people.
