Library

The Library has a unique collection of resources reflecting our organisational values, providing information and education on global and development issues. Registered users can borrow resources from both these collections.  The resources we hold include:

We provide you with free access to our Library Catalogue. You do not need to be registered to browse the catalogue.

Registered Library members can request to borrow catalogue items once they have logged in, which we will post to them free of charge.

We also provide other library services, such as a library additions email - check the library home page for these services.

The key focus of our Library collection is development and global issues. We take a broad and holistic definition of development recognising the complexity and changing nature of issues involved in social, cultural, spiritual and economic development.

Joining and using the library

How to join the library

Membership and use of our library is free! If you live in Aotearoa New Zealand you can join and borrow from our library.

In order to join the library you need to register as a Global Focus Aotearoa library user.

Using the library

When you have registered you will be sent a username and password. Use the login box on the Education Services homepage to log into the library. This will allow you to request items directly from the Library Catalogue.

Library members can request to borrow up to five items at a time, which we will post free of charge. If you live in Wellington it would be great if you could pick up your resources from the Library and save us postage.

Books, DVDs and videos are loaned out for a maximum of two weeks.

Articles from journals can be requested and copies can be retained. All journals are reference only.
