Projects
Global Focus Aotearoa is involved in a number of community education projects at any one time, either leading or as a partner. Below are an example of past and current projects .
Underpinning leadership and involvement is the belief that all projects need to be a natural extension of community building, and that the project provides the context and vehicle for that building to occur. This ensures that the project integrates into the needs of the community and not vice-versa.

The Outlook For Someday: A Sustainability Film Challenge for Young New Zealanders (Project partner 2007-2008)
The Outlook for Someday is an opportunity for young people to have their say on issues impacting on their local communities through the lens of sustainability.

The Next: Engaging Through Interest Based Learning (Project leader 2003-2009)
This web based project started out looking at how Interest based learning approaches can be used to engage young people in an exploration of Global Issues.
The first application of the learning based approach has been applied to creating a resource based around young peoples interest in Hip Hop culture and how this interest base can be used as the core of meaningful educational experiences.
In January 2009 the project was handed over to the Wellington Hip Hop community to complete the aim of supporting community ownership. Since that time the project has been evolving to better meet the needs of rangatahi/young people in communities in the Wellington region.
